"The more you try to display power, the less well you do."

I've find that more stuff I hold back (ie, consciously choosing to NOT talk about my accomplishments, things I can do / know / have done, etc), the more powerful it is whenever my dates find out through all on their own.
Her: Oh...! You can (insert your highly skilled endeavor here!)! Why didn't you tell me?!
Me: You never asked. (grin)
Much more fun that way too.

“Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.” The more you try to display power, the less well you do.

It's like you read my mind. As I was writing the post, I thought about James Bond. In one of his first novels, the woman he's in love with dies. It's an extreme example, but you're 100% right - "invulnerability" comes with a price.

Thanks a lot for reading and commenting, brother.

Those guys, whom we consider invulnerable, crossed a load of negative experiences until they felt comfortable in their own skin. We only see the end result, however many people consider them lucky or whatever, and they don't realize how hard it was for them. Although being such a man, is accepting vulnerability and putting a lot of energy and time to improve yourself.

Everyone wants the easy path to success but the truth is, there isn't none. The fact is many times you have to do what makes you feel nervous and sick, just so you can accomplish something better.

I always enjoy reading your articles. I hope you keep the great work. Thanks.
